Aged care provider reporting

Providers must submit regular reports to the Australian Government to ensure the sector is transparent and accountable.

Reporting requirements for providers

As a provider you are accountable for your services. You must:

  • keep proper records, in line with the Records Principles 2014 (and in line with the new Act and related new Aged Care Rules once implemented)
  • esure your staff and volunteers have screening clearances
  • complete financial and operational repors.

Financial and operational monitoring

The Financial and Prudential Monitoring, Compliance and Intervention Framework is helping the sector to build financial sustainability, capability and resilience.

Reporting helps us to:

  • ensure provider funding is based on actual care costs 
  • identify and support at-risk providers
  • ensure effective governance
  • monitor the quality and safety of service delivery.

Reporting are submitted through:

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care (NATSIFAC) providers will report information on their organisation and delivery of care according to their registration categories (e.g. Service Activity reports).

Increasing transparency

We have published information about the finances and operations of residential aged care and home care providers on My Aged Care from 29 February 2024. This information will be updated every quarter to reflect new reporting. CHSP provider information will not be published.
