Dementia Training Program

The Dementia Training Program offers a national approach to accredited education, upskilling, and professional development in dementia care.

Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission

The Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission is investing $185 million. It supports older Australians to maintain their health and quality of life as they age, live independently for longer, and access quality care when they need it.

Dementia-Friendly Communities

Dementia-Friendly Communities is an Australian Government-funded program to build understanding, awareness and acceptance of dementia in the community.

Elder Care Support

The Elder Care Support program will build a workforce to help older First Nations people, their families and carers, to access aged care services to meet their physical and cultural needs.

End of Life Direction for Aged Care (ELDAC)

ELDAC provides information, guidance, and resources to health professionals and aged care workers on palliative care and advance care planning to improve the care of older Australians.

Government Provider Management System (GPMS)

The Government Provider Management System (GPMS) will make it easier for providers to access and report information to government. In the future it will be a master source of information across the aged care system.

Home Care Packages Program

The Australian Government subsidises organisations to provide home care services to eligible older people. As an approved provider of Home Care Packages, make sure you understand how funding works, the fees you can charge, and what your responsibilities are.

Home Care Workforce Support Program

We help the aged care sector to grow the home care workforce with targeted support for providers to recruit and retain home care workers. The Home Care Workforce Program ceased on 30 June 2024 to be replaced by a new program in early 2025.

Innovative Care Programme

This program supports flexible ways of providing care where mainstream services cannot meet needs. It currently funds 7 innovative projects that focus on younger people with disabilities. The program stopped funding new projects in 2006.

Integrated Care and Commissioning initiative

This initiative will trial new and innovative models of care. It aims to bring together resources across the health and care sectors to ensure people in rural, remote and First Nations communities can get the services they need.

Market Adjustment Program (MAP)

This program provides funding for residential aged care providers to ensure continuity of care for their residents. Applications are by invitation only.

Monthly Care Statements for residential aged care

Monthly Care Statements give aged care residents a summary of the care they receive and any changes or events. This monthly update helps residents and their representatives keep a record of their care, and inform ongoing conversations with their provider.

Multi-Purpose Services (MPS) Program

The MPS Program combines Australian Government funding for aged care services with state and territory health services. This means small rural and remote communities can offer flexible aged care services that meet the needs of their community.

My Aged Care

My Aged Care makes it easier for older people, their families, and support networks to find information on ageing and aged care. You can find the help you need online, by phone or in person.

National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP)

NACAP provides free and confidential advocacy support to older people, their family and carers. It also helps aged care service providers to understand their responsibilities and the aged care rights of the people they care for.

National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program (QI Program)

The QI Program collects information from residential aged care services on 11 quality indicators across critical areas of care that can affect the health and wellbeing of aged care home residents. This helps to monitor and improve the quality of services for older people living in residential care.
