Our committees and groups provide a way for people and organisations to help us develop policies and provide advice on specific issues.
The National Immunisation Committee (NIC) provides advice on the National Immunisation Program (NIP). The NIC also represent the needs and views of vaccination providers and consumers.
The National Mental Health Workforce Strategy Taskforce is developing a Strategy that will consider the quality, supply, distribution, and structure of Australia’s mental health workforce. The taskforce includes members from across the mental health sector.
The National Nursing and Midwifery Education Advisory Network (NNMEAN) works with us and the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer to provide advice on nursing and midwifery education and workforce issues.
This expert steering committee provides advice to help develop the National Preventive Health Strategy. Members are experts in the public health, research, health promotion, medical, allied health, nursing and consumer advocacy fields.
The steering committee informs decisions relating to the National Site of Recognition for thalidomide survivors and their families.
The Natural Therapies Review Expert Advisory Panel (NTREAP) will support the Natural Therapies Review 2019–20.
This steering committee works with us to develop the Nurse Practitioner 10-Year Plan. It helps government and non-government stakeholders work together to develop a plan that meets their needs.
The Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Reference Group (NMSRG) advises us and the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer on relevant nursing and midwifery policy and strategy issues.
The Panel of Clinical Experts assesses the clinical functionality and effectiveness of products being considered for listing on the Prostheses List.
Ms Christine Morgan is the first National Suicide Prevention Adviser, reporting directly to the Prime Minister. She is driving a whole-of-government national approach to suicide prevention, in support of the Australian Government’s ‘towards zero’ suicides goal.
This committee looked at all aspects of private health insurance and provided advice about reforms to the Australian Government.
This committee provides recommendations and advice to the Minister for Health and the Department of Health about the listing of products on the Prostheses List and the benefits payable by private health insurers.
The Prostheses List Reform Governance Group monitors and reviews the Strategic Agreement with the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA).
The RAC Funding Reform Working Group advises the Department of Health on residential aged care funding reform activities.
The Roadmap Implementation Governance Group oversees the implementation of the national roadmap for improving the health of people with intellectual disability (roadmap).
The Rural Health Stakeholder Roundtable brings together key stakeholders to discuss rural health and develop health policies.
The Senior Officer Group (SOG) oversee the implementation of the 2021–22 Budget measure to align provider regulation across the care and support sectors.
The Stem Cell Therapies Mission Expert Advisory Panel advises the government on the research priorities for this mission, which is funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
The Stoma Product Assessment Panel assesses applications to add stoma products to the Stoma Appliance Scheme Schedule. The panel of experts meets twice a year to review applications from suppliers, and give their recommendation.
The COVID-19 Vaccines and Treatments for Australia – Science and Industry Technical Advisory Group provides advice to the Australian Government on the purchasing and manufacturing of COVID-19 vaccines and treatments.
The Transition to College-Led Training Advisory Committee (TCLTAC) provides advice to the Australian Government on the development and implementation of reforms to the delivery of general practice training as part of the transition to a College-led training model.
The Traumatic Brain Injury Mission Expert Working Group will advise the government on the research priorities for this Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) mission.
The Youth Taskforce is developing a National Youth Policy Framework. The taskforce recently completed over 12 months of consultation on issues, policies and programs that impact and are important to young people. The taskforce reports to and supports the Minister for Youth.
