MHSPSO was established to oversee and help implement the National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Agreement.

The Australian Government held a Mental Health Equity and Access Forum on 30 January 2023. The forum focused on how to make mental health services more affordable and accessible to those that need them.

The Mental Health Reform Advisory Committee is shaping and supporting the government’s response to the Better Access evaluation and broader mental health reforms.

The Million Minds Mental Health Research Mission Expert Advisory Panel (EAP) advised the government on research priorities for this mission, which is funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

The National Aged Care Advisory Council provides advice to government on key matters relating to the aged care sector.

The National Arbovirus and Malaria Advisory Committee (NAMAC) is a subcommittee of the Communicable Diseases Network of Australia (CDNA).

The National Blood Borne Virus and Sexually Transmissible Infections Surveillance Subcommittee (NBBVSTI SSC) is an expert committee of the Communicable Disease Network Australia (CDNA). It provides expert advice on BBV and STI transmission.

The National Dust Disease Taskforce developed a national approach to prevent, identify, control and manage occupational dust diseases in Australia. The taskforce has completed its work and ceased operating.

The National Health and Medical Research Strategy Interdepartmental Committee (IDC) supports the development of the National Health and Medical Research Strategy (National Strategy).

The National Health Emergency Management Sub-committee (NHEMS) is a subcommittee of the Australian Health Protection Committee (AHPC). It addresses the operational aspects of disaster medicine and health emergency management.

The National HTA Chairs Committee is made up of the chairs from the HTA expert advisory committees for medicines, medical services and medical devices. The committee works with the group of chairs to ensure that all committees discuss issues and make decisions using a consistent approach.

The National Immunisation Committee (NIC) is a subcommittee of the Communicable Diseases Network Australia (CDNA) and provides advice on the National Immunisation Program (NIP).

The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) Advisory Group provides advice on program implementation, policy and governance for the program.

The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) Expert Advisory Committee provides clinical advice on the quality and safety of the NLCSP.

The National Mental Health Workforce Strategy Taskforce developed a strategy that considers the quality, supply, distribution, and structure of Australia’s mental health workforce. The taskforce included members from across the mental health sector.

The National Nursing and Midwifery Education Advisory Network (NNMEAN) works with us and the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer. The NNMEAN gives advice on nursing and midwifery education and workforce issues.

The Strategy Advisory Group (SAG) provides advice on the development of the National Nursing Workforce Strategy.

The Strategy Steering Committee (SSC) oversees the development of the National Nursing Workforce Strategy.

This expert steering committee provides advice to help develop the National Preventive Health Strategy. Members are experts in the public health, research, health promotion, medical, allied health, nursing and consumer advocacy fields.

The National Respiratory Infections Surveillance Committee (NRISC) is a subcommittee of the Communicable Diseases Network Australia (CDNA). We established the NRISC to enhance respiratory infection surveillance in Australia and foster collaboration among experts in this field.

The steering committee informs decisions relating to the National Site of Recognition for thalidomide survivors and their families.

The National Tuberculosis Advisory Committee (NTAC) is a subcommittee of the Communicable Diseases Network Australia (CDNA). It provides advice on the prevention and control of tuberculosis in Australia.

The National Women’s Health Advisory Council provides the Australian Government with advice and recommendations to improve health outcomes for women and girls in Australia. The council also provides advice on the implementation of the National Women’s Health Strategy 2020–2030.

The Natural Therapies Review Expert Advisory Panel (NTREAP) supported the Natural Therapies Review 2024. The final meeting was held on 10 December 2024.

The Nurse Practitioner Steering Committee (NPSC) provided advice and expertise on the development of the Nurse Practitioner Workforce Plan.
