Associated provider consideration under the Act
- Claude is considered an aged care worker under the new Act.
- The registered provider Claude works for remains responsible for ensuring Claude meets worker requirements under the Act, including screening and qualifications.
- Claude must meet all requirements for workers in aged care (such as delivering services in line with the Statement of Rights and Code of Conduct).
Section 11(4) of the Aged Care Act 2024 defines an aged care worker.

The new Act will benefit Claude through:
- Providing a safer care culture: The new Act creates a safer, fairer system that benefits both workers and the people they care for.
- Simplified compliance: The registered provider retains responsibility for screening and qualification requirements, and all requirements under the Act, relating to its registration, so Claude does not need to manage these independently
- Training and support: Dedicated eLearning modules and resources help workers understand the Act, apply its principles in practice, and support older people’s rights.
