Step 1. Become a registered provider
To provide Support at Home services, you must be a registered provider under the Aged Care Act 2024.
Certain conditions will apply to registration. These include showing you understand and have systems in place to meet requirements such as:
- meet Aged Care Quality Standards
- uphold the rights of participants
- manage incidents and complaints
- meet financial reporting requirements.

Step 2. Understand your responsibilities
You must understand your responsibilities under the relevant legislation. They include requirements such as:
- using a wellness and reablement approach
- supporting diverse needs
- providing safe care and services at a reasonable cost
- reporting changes and keeping records.

Step 3. Tell us about your service delivery branches
A service delivery branch is the place of business where a registered provider delivers funded aged care services to individuals. All participants must be connected to a service delivery branch to receive Support at Home services.
For each Support at Home service delivery branch established, use the Service Delivery Branch Notification Form to tell us the:
- name
- street address
- postal address
- contact details
- proposed service start date
- branch ID (if you are reopening a closed service).

Step 4. Register with My Aged Care and online claiming
You must set up access to the My Aged Care Service and Support Portal so you can:
- create a profile for your organisation
- add information about your services
- publish and update your service prices
- manage service referrals.
You must also register for the Aged Care Provider Portal with Services Australia for online claiming.

Step 5. Provider training
We recommend that you complete the Support at Home provider training
It will help you and your aged care workers to understand:
- your obligations under the Aged Care Act 2024
- your responsibilities under Support at Home, including service delivery, short-term pathways, care planning and payment arrangements.
This training is not mandatory.
