Charging for Support at Home services

As a Support at Home provider, you are responsible for setting reasonable prices, collecting contributions and helping participants understand their contributions and income and assets assessment.

  • Participant contributions
    You will need to collect participants contributions for independence and everyday living services. This contribution will depend on their individual circumstances. Participants will not contribute to clinical supports, such as nursing care.
  • Income and assets assessment
    Most participants will contribute towards the cost of their independence and everyday living services. How much they contribute is based on an assessment of their income and assets by Services Australia. Financial hardship assistance is available if eligible.
  • Prices
    You are responsible for setting your own prices, which must be all inclusive, reasonable and transparent. You must publish common prices and agree on all prices before charging participants. Price caps will apply from 1 July 2026.
