23 December 2024 - The National Nursing Workforce Strategy will establish priorities to guide the nursing workforce now and into the future. It will help address workforce challenges, foster collaboration and drive action among stakeholders in shaping the future of workforce planning, investment and reform.

28 January 2026 - We provide access to funding for community pharmacies and residential aged care homes to employ on-site pharmacists to work in residential aged care homes.

5 November 2025 - ED-POST is a prototype decision support tool for Emergency Departments, designed to improve pathology test ordering. Developed via stakeholder input and trialled across NSW sites, it aims to reduce low-value care and enhance diagnostic stewardship.

29 May 2025 - The Junior Doctor Training Program (JDTP) supports education and supervision for junior doctors in rural primary health care settings and private hospitals. This helps provide a continued supply of doctors to deliver health services across Australia. It is part of our Stronger Rural Health Strategy.

31 October 2025 - We have implemented several initiatives based on recommendations from the Roadmap for Hearing Health. These were designed to raise awareness, build our evidence base, improve ear health among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, and improve hearing support among older Australians.

3 September 2025 - This hotline provides free and confidential information and support for people who have concerns about their own, or someone else's alcohol and/or other drug use. You can call the hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1800 250 015.

23 October 2025 - The Aged Care Transition to Practice (ACTTP) program provides nurses with mentoring, training and support at the start of their career in aged care.
