Role
The National Aged Care Advisory Council provides expert advice to Government on key matters relating to the aged care sector.
This includes providing advice on:
- implementation of the aged care reforms
- navigating aged care services
- building the capability of providers and workforce to meet changing requirements under the reforms.
Advice from the Advisory Council reflects the diverse needs and expectations of older people and their families and carers, regardless of their location or circumstance, and recognises the need to protect the interests of the vulnerable and disadvantaged.
The Advisory Council reports to the Minister for Health and Aged Care and the Minister for Aged Care.
