Role
The Nurse Practitioner Steering Committee (NPSC) provided advice and expertise on the development of the Nurse Practitioner Workforce Plan.
The NPSC:
- provided evidence-based advice on key policy issues related to development of the plan
- identified priority issues facing nurse practitioners
- identified relevant projects within their own organisation or jurisdiction
- identified and communicated with relevant stakeholders that were not represented on the committee
- liaised with the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Reference Group (NMSRG) to:
- provide updates on plan development
- support links with the development of the National Nursing Workforce Strategy
- reviewed plan drafts and provided timely feedback to the department.

Meetings
The NPSC will hold a minimum of 4 meetings per year. Meetings can be face-to-face or via videoconference.
