27 November 2025 - We do research to understand how the aged care system is performing and identify any issues.

10 December 2025 - There are many opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to work in the health sector. The Australian Government helps First Nations students complete their studies and join the health workforce. It also provides financial support for further studies to those already working.

11 December 2025 - The strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards are more measurable, detailed and comprehensive. The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety identified focus areas for improvement, including diversity, governance, food and nutrition, dementia and clinical care.

23 December 2025 - If you provide residential aged care services, you have certain responsibilities as a registered provider. You must provide quality care and services, manage fees and charges, and meet all legislative requirements.

1 September 2025 - The Aged Care Advisory Group advises the Australian Health Protection Committee about aged care policy related to infectious diseases and emergency preparedness. It brings together expertise about the aged care sector, infection control, emergency preparedness and public health response.

17 December 2025 - The Aged Care Transition Taskforce (Transition Taskforce) was announced by the Australian Government to help the aged care sector transition to the Aged Care Act 2024.

6 June 2025 - The Practitioner Review Program (PRP) identifies and intervenes where practitioners’ and corporate entities’ activities under Medicare, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), and the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) may indicate potential inappropriate practice.
