Australian Government–led actions

Governments and medical workforce stakeholders are working collaboratively to implement the National Medical Workforce Strategy 2021–2031.

We are implementing several Australian Government–led actions in the strategy. These include:

• progressing governance arrangements for the new joint planning and advisory body
• developing a Hospital Registrar and Career Medical Officer Framework
• researching the use of locums.
