Community Visitors Scheme resources

A look at the new Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), (formerly Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) to be launched 1 July 2023.

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS), is an initiative available to anyone receiving government-subsidised residential aged care or Home Care Packages, including people who are approved and on a waiting list for residential care or home care packages.

Use this form to provide care recipient details, including any preferences, to help the CVS match the care recipient to a suitable volunteer visitor. This form can be completed by an aged care service provider, a CVS auspice coordinator, the care recipient or their representative.

This document outlines the aims of the CVS and sets out the roles and responsibilities of CVS auspices and network members, volunteers, aged care service providers, care recipients, the Department of Health and Aged Care and the Department of Social Services.

In December 2018, Minister Wyatt requested a review of the 2018 CVS grant round. The review looks at how we implemented the round and communicated with stakeholders.

The review looked at how the CVS can better support people who receive residential and home care packages and feel isolated. The 2017 report makes several recommendations.
