What you need to do
In the vocational phase of your career, you have specific reporting obligations as detailed under the:
Vocational doctors are those who have commenced an advanced or specialist training program with an accredited Australian medical college.
As a vocational doctor, you must:
- regularly log into your Bonded Return of Service System (BRoSS) record to ensure all personal details are up to date
- ensure all notifiable event requirements have been met, including your
- Commencement of vocational training advisory
- ‘Proposed completion date’ under your ‘Commencement of vocational training’ advisory if appropriate
- Attain medical specialisation advisory, once you fellow
- plan, activate and complete Return of Service Obligation (RoSO) plans in BRoSS for any work you wish to credit towards your RoSO.
If you cease your vocational training before attaining fellowship, or change your specialty type, please send an email detailing the changes to bondedmedicalprogram@health.gov.au so we can update BRoSS on your behalf.
Updating your vocational completion date in BRoSS
- If you have completed your vocational training, please update your ‘Attain medical specialisation’ by clicking ‘Advise’.
- If you have not completed your vocational training by your goal date you will need to update this to reflect a future placeholder date. To edit this return to ‘Commencement of vocational training’.
