1 September 2026 - The HWT provides advice and recommendations to the Health Ministers’ Meeting (HMM) on priority workforce matters. The HWT develops and oversees implementation of a range of workforce strategies to meet current and future health needs of Australians.

18 December 2025 - PHNs manage their region in line with the needs of their community, based on consultation and guidance from community advisory committees and clinical councils, as well as Australian Government health priorities. The program guidelines and performance framework provide structure for the program.

12 March 2025 - We had an active COVID-19 health alert between 2020 and 2023. We now manage COVID-19 like other common communicable diseases.

17 March 2026 - We have delivered several reforms to increase transparency and quality in aged care. This includes the new Aged Care Act, a new Code of Conduct for workers, a Star Ratings system, a mandatory minimum of care minutes per resident per day, a 24/7 nursing requirement and new quality indicators.

26 August 2026 - We work to minimise the impact of COVID-19 through free COVID-19 vaccines and subsidised treatments, national guidelines and case definitions for public health units, funding research to better understand and tackle this disease, and tracking and reporting on statistics.

26 March 2026 - A list of resources – including apps, audio and video resources and other publications – about the Support at Home program.

29 October 2025 - We consult when we review or plan to expand the National Aged Care Quality Indicator Program (QI Program).
