  • Medical Research Commercialisation initiative

    The Medical Research Commercialisation initiative will provide $450 million over 10 years from 2024–25 to support innovative early stage health and medical research in Australia. It will help researchers transform ideas into life-saving medicines, devices and treatments to help future patients.
  • Medical Research Future Fund

    The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) is a $22 billion long-term investment supporting Australian health and medical research. The MRFF aims to transform health and medical research and innovation to improve lives, build the economy and contribute to health system sustainability.
  • Medical Rural Bonded Scholarship Scheme

    The Medical Rural Bonded Scholarship Scheme has closed to new applicants. Existing participants can either continue with this scheme or opt in to the more flexible Bonded Medical Program.
  • Medical Treatment Overseas Program

    The Medical Treatment Overseas Program (MTOP) helps approved Australians who have a life-threatening medical condition access life-saving medical treatment overseas where treatment is not available in Australia.
  • Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Review

    The MBS Review considered how MBS items could be better aligned with contemporary clinical evidence and practice, to improve health outcomes. The review ran from 2015 to 2020. The Australian Government has progressively considered and implemented the recommendations.
  • Medicare Mental Health

    Medicare mental health provides information, advice and links to free and low-cost phone and online mental health services, as well as supports to help you or someone you know.
  • Medicare Mental Health Centres

    Medicare Mental Health Centres are a welcoming and non-judgemental place where you can access free mental health information, services and supports.
  • Medicare Urgent Care Clinics

    Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) give you and your family more options to see a doctor or nurse when you need care for urgent, but not life-threatening illnesses or injuries.
