Immunisation coverage rates for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children

The national coverage rate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 5 year olds was 96.23% at September 2022, well above the target of 95% and the highest immunisation rate of any age group. The coverage for one year olds is 91.42%, while the coverage rate for 2 year olds is 89.53%.

We have again exceeded the target of 95% coverage for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 5 year olds.

As at September 2022, the coverage rates were:

  • 91.42% for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander one year olds
  • 89.53% for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 2 year olds
  • 96.23% for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 5 year olds.
