The Flexible Approach to Training in Expanded Settings (FATES) program funds non-general practitioner specialist medical training activities. It aims to improve distribution and supply of specialist medical training in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia.

Governments are working together to design and deliver additional supports in the community for people with disability. These are known as Foundational Supports.

We are investing $1.995 million from 2022–2026 to make interpreting services available to eligible allied health services. This funding will improve access to allied health services.

The Frontier Health and Medical Research initiative will provide $700 million over 10 years from 2024–25 to support researchers to develop new health and medical breakthroughs.

The General Practice in Aged Care Incentive supports older people living in residential aged care. This will help them receive quality primary care services from their regular provider and practice.

The General Practitioner Procedural Training Support Program (GPPTSP) aims to improve maternity services for women living in rural and remote areas. It supports general practitioners (GPs) in those areas to gain procedural skills in anaesthetics and obstetrics.

Genomics Australia was established on 1 July 2025 to provide national leadership and coordination to better integrate genomics into the health system.

The Genomics Health Futures Mission is investing $500.1 million in genomic research. It will improve testing and diagnosis for many diseases, help personalise treatment options to better target and improve health outcomes. It will also reduce unnecessary interventions and health costs.

The Get Up & Grow program developed resources that help parents and educators to make sure children eat healthy foods and are physically active, so they grow up healthy and strong. The resources are available in multiple languages.

The Global Health initiative will provide $30 million over 10 years from 2024–25 to fund projects that improve our understanding of global health threats and how best to tackle them.

The Greater Choice for At Home Palliative Care measure aims to improve palliative care coordination through Primary Health Networks (PHNs).

Griefline is a free national helpline offering confidential telephone counselling 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They provide early intervention and prevention of mental health difficulties, which may compound a person’s experience of grief, loss and trauma.

This project aims to improve access and the quality of palliative care service delivery for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people throughout Australia, by providing a suite of tailored education and training materials to support cultural safety within palliative care services.

Haemopoietic progenitor cells (HPC) therapy can save the lives of patients with conditions of the blood, blood-producing organs or immune system. The program funds several initiatives to help eligible Australians to access HPC treatments.

Head to Health Clinics have been established to support Victorians during the COVID-19 pandemic. All Victorians can access the free Head to Health services by attending in-person at a clinic near them or by calling 1800 595 212 to talk a mental health professional about their needs.
