Funding for Support at Home

The Australian Government allocates funding on behalf of eligible participants to registered Support at Home providers. This section outlines funding classifications, supplements and care management funding.

  • Funding classifications
Participants accessing ongoing services are assigned one of 8 funding classifications to meet their assessed needs. A participant may receive interim funding for a period of time under certain circumstances.
  • Supplements and grants
We pay supplements into eligible participants’ budgets to cover the cost of providing specialised care. We also fund grants to eligible providers operating in thin markets.
  • Funding care management
We fund care management differently from direct services. For ongoing services, 10% is deducted from each participant’s quarterly budget to fund care management. For the Restorative Care Pathway and End-of-Life Pathway, you claim against a participant’s budget.
