About the change
The new Act will include CHSP and NATSIFAC as regulated programs for the first time.
When the new Act starts, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) will register and regulate CHSP and NATSIFAC providers.
We will provide information and training to help providers prepare for the transition.
CHSP obligations
When the new Aged Care Act starts, CHSP providers will need to meet relevant obligations such as:
- the Aged Care Code of Conduct
- worker screening
- personal information and record keeping
- fees and payments
- incident management and reporting under the Serious Incident Response Scheme
- continuity of care
- service planning
- complaints and whistleblowers
- compliance with the Financial and Prudential Standards
- rights and principles
- compliance with laws and regulations.
Many of these obligations are already included in the CHSP Manual and will not be new.
You will also need to have a grant agreement with us to deliver services.
We will send you information about your registration categories and related obligations.
Once you are a registered provider, you must meet your obligations.

NATSIFAC obligations
When the new Aged Care Act starts, NATSIFAC providers will need to meet new obligations, such as the requirement to be registered.
You will also need to have a grant agreement with us to deliver services.
We will provide more information to help you prepare for the new obligations before they start.
