About the change
The new regulatory model will begin when the new Aged Care Act starts. For the first time, the new Act will include the CHSP and NATSIFAC Program.
From day 1 of the new Act, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) will register and regulate CHSP and NATSIFAC providers.
We will provide information and training to help providers prepare for the transition.
CHSP obligations
When the new Aged Care Act starts, CHSP providers will need to meet relevant obligations such as:
- the Aged Care Code of Conduct
- worker screening
- personal information and record keeping
- fees and payments
- incident management and reporting under the Serious Incident Response Scheme
- continuity of care
- service planning
- complaints and whistleblowers
- compliance with the Financial and Prudential Standards
- rights and principles
- compliance with laws and regulations.
You will also need to have a grant agreement with us to deliver services.
We will send you information about your registration categories and related obligations.
Once you are a registered provider, you must operate in line with the expectations of your registration.
