19 March 2026 - The Health Ministers Meeting (HMM) works to progress health issues of national importance which require cross-border collaboration. It is made up of the health ministers of each state and territory government, along with the Australian Government Minister for Health, Disability and Ageing.

6 June 2025 - Older people and their families can contact OPAN’s Aged Care Advocacy Line for free, confidential, and independent advocacy support regarding government-funded aged care. OPAN also offers education sessions to help providers to understand and meet their obligations under the Statement of Rights.

3 November 2025 - We have introduced a new aged care regulatory model as part of the new Aged Care Act. The model changes the way the sector operates and improve outcomes for older people.

12 November 2025 - If you’re aged between 50 to 70 with a history of smoking, you may be eligible for a free lung screen.

30 July 2025 - The Australian Government: has primary or shared responsibility for 172 recommendations accepts or accepts in principle 130 recommendations is considering further 36 recommendations, and notes 6 recommendations.
