5 September 2025 - The SDCP funds specialist dementia care units in residential aged care homes. The units provide specialised care to people with very severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. They aim to reduce or stabilise symptoms so that people can transition into less intensive care settings.

4 June 2025 - The Australian Government pays approved providers a subsidy on behalf of each person receiving residential aged care. The Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) replaced the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) on 1 October 2022.

18 August 2025 - Retention amounts will be deducted from refundable accommodation deposits and contributions (RADs and RACs) from 1 November 2025. Providers are responsible for calculating and deducting retention amounts. This only applies to residents on the 1 November 2025 accommodation arrangements.
