  • This initiative aims to give health professionals the skills they need to discuss alcohol and pregnancy with women. It has developed resources such as accredited training, brochures and videos.

  • The Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) improves access to quality medical, nursing and allied health services in regional, rural and remote areas. Its financial incentives encourage doctors to work in these areas and support medical practices to employ nurses and eligible allied health professionals.

  • The Government is working to stop the flow of younger people (under the age of 65) going into residential aged care, and to help younger people who are already in residential aged care to move to age-appropriate accommodation and support.

  • Keeping yourself and your baby healthy during pregnancy starts with 3 steps: eat well, stay active and ask for support.
