We're working on a range of policy initiatives, programs and campaigns to help improve your health and the health of all Australians.
The National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health, delivered by Emerging Minds, assists professionals and organisations who work with children and their parents or families to have the skills to identify, assess and support children at risk of mental health conditions.
This program helps older people get back on their feet after a hospital stay. It provides short-term care for up to 12 weeks, including social work, nursing support, personal care and allied health care. State and territory governments are the approved providers of transition care.
The Transition to Practice Program provides an evidence-based framework of support over 12 months to nurses who have transitioned to primary health care and feel they would benefit from additional support. We fund the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) to provide this program.
Approved providers of government-subsidised aged care can use the Translating and Interpreting Service for free when discussing care needs, fees, care plans and budgets with clients. The Australian Government funds these services so that all people can take an active role in their aged care.
The Traumatic Brain Injury Mission is investing $50 million to improve patient recovery after brain injury. It will support projects that predict recovery outcomes, or identify the most effective care and treatments.
The Vaccine Administration Partners Program (VAPP) Panel is a whole-of-government COVID-19 immunisation provider (IProvider) panel delivering Australia's COVID-19 vaccination program.
The Value in Prescribing (ViP) Program funds resources, tools and interventions. These support specialist health professionals and patients in using immunoglobulin products and alternatives to biological disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (bDMARDs).
The Victorian Aged Care Response Centre brought together Australian and Victorian Government agencies to manage the response to
COVID-19 in Victorian residential aged care facilities.
Under this program employers who are sponsoring a visa for an International Medical Graduate (IMG) must apply for a Health Workforce Certificate. Hospital employers who are sponsoring a temporary or provisional visa for an IMG must apply for a Health Workforce Exemption Certificate.

Residential aged care and home care service providers can apply for free, independent and confidential advice to improve workforce planning.
The Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) improves access to quality medical, nursing and allied health services in regional, rural and remote areas. Its financial incentives encourage doctors to work in these areas and support medical practices to employ nurses and eligible allied health professionals.
The Government is working to stop the flow of younger people (under the age of 65) going into residential aged care, and to help younger people who are already in residential aged care to move to age-appropriate accommodation and support.
