Funding extension for the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

We are extending funding for existing Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) service providers until June 2022. This will help you plan for your future resource, service delivery and staffing needs. Find out what you need to do, who is eligible, and how we will keep you informed.

What do service providers need to do?

Only existing CHSP service providers are eligible for this funding extension, and you do not need to apply.

We will assess eligible service providers. If appropriate, we will renew funding until June 2022, so that you can continue existing services.

This is a continuation of existing funding, and no additional funding is available.

For more information, see the grant opportunity details on GrantConnect (until 29 May 2020).

What will change?

Some changes will start on 1 July 2020 to help you meet the care needs of your clients.

We will:

  • let you reallocate up to half of your funding across service types and between CHSP sub-programs, to meet demand
  • make it easier to report on performance

Keeping providers informed

If we extend your funding, we will talk to you about possible changes to your funding agreement. We might require changes for providers who have a history of underspending their grants.

We will also provide regular updates via emails, webinars and Funding Arrangement Managers.

We encourage CHSP service providers to subscribe to our email updates.
