National Nursing Workforce Strategy Steering Committee

The Strategy Steering Committee (SSC) oversees the development of the National Nursing Workforce Strategy.

The Strategy Steering Committee (SSC) will guide the development of the National Nursing Workforce Strategy, so it meets the needs of:

  • the community
  • the profession
  • service delivery providers.

The SSC includes senior officers from all jurisdictions who:

  • have knowledge of nursing workforce issues
  • can share workforce information and data
  • have authority to make decisions about their jurisdiction’s requirements and commitments.

The SSC also includes several specialists with expertise outside of nursing who can bring a different perspective to help to shape the strategy.

The Commonwealth and Victorian Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officers (CNMO) will co-chair the SSC.

Meetings will be held approximately 6-8 times per year and communiques will be published here after each meeting.

The Strategy Advisory Group (SAG) is a time-limited stakeholder group advising on the development of the Strategy.

The SAG reports to the SSC which in turn reports to the Health Workforce Taskforce (HWT).
