  • Supporting Rural Specialists in Australia

The Supporting Rural Specialists in Australia program helps specialists in rural and remote Australia access educational opportunities. It provides support and training via online learning programs, and grants to rural specialists to access training not available in their home town.
  • Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance in Aged Care Facilities initiative

Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance in Aged Care Facilities has been consolidated into the Global Health initiative under the MRFF 10-year Investment Plan. This initiative helped tackle the threat of microbes such as bacteria, viruses or parasites becoming resistant to standard medical treatments.
  • Tackling Indigenous Smoking

The Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) program aims to reduce smoking rates among First Nations Australians. Local organisations run activities designed to prevent the uptake of smoking, promote quitting, and solve emerging issues, such as the use of e-cigarettes by youth.
  • Take Home Naloxone program

The Australian Government is investing in a program to make naloxone available free to people who may experience, or witness, an opioid overdose.
  • Targeted Health System and Community Organisation Research initiative

The activity provides a way to compare the effectiveness of health services and address areas of health care practice with low evidence.
  • Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention

The Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention program funds regional initiatives for suicide prevention in every Primary Health Network (PHN). This funding has provided PHNs with resources to address gaps in their local suicide prevention systems.
