Our related work

  • Rural Health Workforce Support Activity

The Rural Health Workforce Support Activity (RHWSA) aims to meet current and future regional, rural and remote health workforce needs through workforce planning.
  • Rural Locum Assistance Program (Rural LAP)

Rural LAP provides locums so that rural health professionals can attend continuing professional development or take vacation leave. The program also funds GPs to do extra training so they can become rural locums.
  • Rural Procedural Grants Program (RPGP)

The RPGP helps cover the cost of professional development for procedural general practitioners (GPs) who work in rural and remote areas. This ensures people who live in rural and remote areas have access to highly qualified health professionals.
  • Screen me

If you have a cervix, are aged between 25 and 74, and you’ve ever had any sexual contact (with anyone), cervical screening is for you.
  • Screen with your sistas

If you’re a woman over 40, you can have a free breast screen every 2 years. They are available all over the country, from big cities to out bush. No matter where you live, we’re here to help you stay healthy.
  • Security Sensitive Biological Agents (SSBA) Regulatory Scheme

The deliberate release of harmful biological agents (viruses, bacteria, fungi and toxins) can cause significant damage to human health, the environment and the Australian economy. This scheme helps us manage the security of SSBAs and aims to limit the occurrence of acts of bioterrorism or biocrime.
  • Self-collection for the Cervical Screening Test

All cervical screening participants now have the choice to self-collect their own Cervical Screening Test sample. A self-collected sample is taken from the vagina and is checked for human papillomavirus (HPV) – a common infection that causes almost all cervical cancers.
  • Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)

The Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) is helping to reduce abuse and neglect of older people receiving aged care services. It expands the responsibilities of Commonwealth-subsidised aged care providers on preventing and managing serious incidents.
