  • New aged care regulatory model

    We are introducing a new aged care regulatory model as part of the new Aged Care Act. The model will change the way the sector operates and improve outcomes for older people.
  • Newborn bloodspot screening

    Healthcare providers offer bloodspot screening for all babies born in Australia. This simple test identifies babies at risk of becoming seriously ill from a rare condition. Screening aims to improve the health of these babies by allowing early intervention.
  • Nurse Practitioner Workforce Plan

    The Nurse Practitioner Workforce Plan supports nurse practitioners to deliver health and aged care services. The plan addresses barriers that have prevented them from working to their full potential.
  • Nursing and allied health scholarships

    We fund a range of scholarship opportunities through the Australian College of Nursing including nursing, midwifery, aged care, undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships. Preference is given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.
  • Office of the National Rural Health Commissioner

    The ONRHC provides policy advice to the minister responsible for rural health. The National Rural Health Commissioner leads work to improve rural health policies and ensure there remains a strong focus on the health needs of rural communities.
  • Other Medical Practitioners programs

    The Other Medical Practitioner (OMPs) programs provide access to higher Medicare rebates for doctors without fellowship who deliver services in approved locations and meet eligibility requirements.
  • Our Local Network

    Our Local Network collaborates with health and aged care system partners to address local challenges and service gaps. We inform government policy and programs that impact the health and wellbeing for all people in Australia.
  • OzFoodNet network

    The OzFoodNet network monitors and responds to foodborne diseases in Australia. Learn about how it monitors, investigates and responds to foodborne diseases to protect Australians from food poisoning.
  • palliAGED – palliative care aged care evidence

    palliAGED is the palliative care evidence and practice information resource for the Australian aged care sector. It provides support for health and care practitioners as well as resource developers. The website also provides trustworthy information for older Australians, their families and friends.
