Aged care initiatives and programs
Transition Care Programme
The Transition Care Programme helps older people recover after a hospital stay by providing short-term care for up to 12 weeks. Read about the program, care provided, and why it’s important.
Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) for aged care service providers and older people in aged care
The Australian Government funds aged care providers’ access to interpreting services through TIS National. Providers can use TIS National to help people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds access and navigate the aged care system. It is available all year round at no cost to them.
Virtual nursing in aged care
We are developing and testing a framework to deliver virtual nursing services to improve clinical care for older people in residential aged care homes.
Younger people in residential aged care
We are working to stop younger people under 65 going into residential aged care. We are helping younger people consider and access suitable accommodation and support.
