The Tackling Indigenous Smoking and Healthy Lifestyle Programme was established in 2010. Its main aim is to decrease chronic disease and early death among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To do this it has focused on:
- community education
- reducing smoking rates
- improving nutrition
- increasing physical activity
The review looked at how the program could be effective and in line with the evidence. It was conducted by the University of Canberra in 2014 who analysed the program and made recommendations for improvement. It consists of 4 parts:
- an executive summary
- a literature review
- consultation with stakeholders
- a decision analysis
