Description:
You can use PAS to assess people for the major psychogeriatric disorders — dementia and depression. It assesses them on scales rather than as categories.
PAS is designed to help a wider range of people to carry out psychogeriatric assessments. You do not need extensive training to use it.
The PAS is made up of two sections:

subject interview — your care recipient, client or patient

informant interview — a relative, carer or other person who knows the subject well
The two interviews give different perspectives on the subject’s functioning.
