This document is for residential aged care providers to give to prospective residents. You must give this document to residents on pre-1 July 2014 fee arrangements who intend to move to your service. It provides information about how moving to a new service may affect a person’s fees.

This document explains the residential care fee arrangements that started on 1 July 2014. Under section 13 of the User Rights Principles 2014, you must give this document to continuing residential care recipients who intend to move to your service. 

It outlines the fee arrangements that will apply if a person on pre-1 July 2014 fee arrangements moves to a new aged care home: 

  • more than 28 days after exiting their previous home 
  • within 28 days of exiting their previous home.
