Lung conditions affect around 7 million people and are the second biggest cause of death in Australia.
The National Strategic Action Plan for Lung Conditions aims to ‘improve the lives of all Australians through better lung health.’
The plan identifies 6 priority areas:
- Prevention and risk reduction
- Awareness and stigma
- Diagnosis, management and care
- Partners in health
- Equitable access
- Research and monitoring
The plan proposes actions to achieve its goals and an evaluation framework to assess progress.
