Description:

This mid-point review of progress was done in order to check that Australia was on track to meet the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) performance benchmark for tobacco. It included:

  • a data analysis — done by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare
  • a policy analysis — done by Health Policy Analysis Pty Ltd

Findings from the review were to be used to help prioritise tobacco control for the remainder of the time period and inform the development of a new strategy beyond 2018.
