The Australian Government introduced the Aged Care Bill 2024 to Parliament on 12 September 2024. The new Aged Care Act will start from 1 July 2025. It will be the main law that sets out how the aged care system operates. This plain language fact sheet gives a summary of each chapter of the Act. It also explains what the government is doing to support the changes now and in the future.
