Collection description
This collection contains the Intellectual Disability Health Capability Framework (the Framework) and supporting education resources.
The framework sets out clear capabilities, learning outcomes and guides for universities and accreditation authorities. The framework aims to support universities to improve education and training for health students. This will help health students have the right knowledge, skills and attitudes to care for people with intellectual disability.
An Easy Read summary of the framework is also available, including an Easy Read resource about how people with intellectual disability can use the framework as an advocacy tool. You can also watch a video about the framework.
The education resources support the Intellectual Disability Health Capability Framework. Educators can use this pack of resources to teach students studying health-related disciplines about intellectual disability health. Educators can adapt or create further resources to suit their health profession.
All the resources have been co-designed with people with intellectual disability and their carers, family and supporters, and are free to use.
