Your role
BreastScreen Australia strives to detect cancer as early as possible. We want to improve the likely outcomes for women with the disease.
You can use your clinical reminder systems to proactively identify women who are due for their breast screen.
Your dedication underpins and drives the program. You can increase women's confidence in breast screening by helping them to understand:
- the benefits and limitations of screening mammograms
- the need for regular screening every 2 years
- breast cancer symptoms
- treatment options.
Clinical guidelines
Evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, guides and recommendations are available on Cancer Australia’s website. They can guide your decision making and help you follow best practice in managing breast cancer with your patients.
Read Cancer Australia's comprehensive digital resource – Guidance for the management of early breast cancer.
