The National Apology
On Wednesday 29 November 2023, the Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, delivered a National Apology to all Australians impacted by the Thalidomide Tragedy.
Thalidomide survivors, their family members, carers and supporters attended the historic
event at Australian Parliament House.

The National Apology is in response to a recommendation of the Final report of the Senate Community Affairs References Committee inquiry into Support for Australia’s thalidomide survivors.
