How we target support
We continue to deliver targeted support to providers facing viability concerns.
We encourage you to enquire about programs if you believe you meet eligibility criteria.
We also work with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and our state and territory offices to identify approved providers that are experiencing financial difficulties and may benefit from support.
Market Adjustment Program (MAP)
The MAP provides funding to strategically important aged care providers facing financial viability concerns. Since 1 July 2023, MAP has supported residential aged care providers, and from 1 November 2025, it will expand to include Support at Home providers.
To ensure you can provide continuity of care for care recipients, MAP can help you to:
- manage a transition, sale or an orderly closure, (when warranted)
- get help with facing financial crisis and insolvency
- improve your business.
Rural, Remote and First Nations Aged Care Service Development Assistance Panel (SDAP)
SDAP provides free professional support to aged care service providers who:
- are in rural or remote areas (MMM4 to MMM7), or
- provide care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Panel members help providers in:
- capability and support
- sector development
- infrastructure project management.
Business and Workforce Advisory Service (BWAS)
This advisory service will allow eligible aged care providers – including those in regional, rural and remote areas – to apply for free, independent, and confidential advice to improve their operations.
They will help providers review their operations and provide advice on:
- business management
- financial strategies
- workforce challenges
- reform transition/implementation.
