New Aged Care Act roadmap
Roadmaps are now available to help the aged care sector prepare for the new Aged Care Act.
There are separate roadmaps for aged care providers and older people, their families and carers.
The roadmap for providers outlines key dates and milestones for:
- digital and systems
- education and training
- legislation and policy
- sector and operational readiness.
The roadmap for older people, their families and carers outlines key dates and milestones for:
- registering supporters in My Aged Care
- receiving estimated contribution percentage rates
- signing new or updated service agreements
- accessing support from advocacy groups to adjust to the changes.
Sector Change Plan
The Sector Change Plan outlines communication, engagement, guidance and training activities to support older people and the sector transition to the new Act.
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission also has a Sector Readiness Plan.
Provider Operational Readiness – Priority Actions List
This Priority Actions List is to guide aged care providers on what to do before and after 1 November 2025, to implement the new Act and Support at Home program.
