22 January 2024 - Medicare provides Australians with free or subsidised health care. Australians help to cover its costs through the Medicare levy. We thoroughly assess medical services and medicines to ensure we only subsidise those that are clinically effective, cost effective and as safe as possible.

4 August 2026 - This program aims to reduce deaths from bowel cancer by detecting early signs of the disease. If found early, more than 90% of cases can be successfully treated.
