23 December 2025 - Before you can provide government-funded residential aged care, you must take several steps. These include applying to be a registered provider, telling us about your services, publishing the details of your service and understanding your responsibilities.

7 January 2026 - Aged care workers are fundamental to delivering the care all Australians expect for older people. An award wage rise recognises the value of aged care workers and the complex work they do.

19 December 2025 - Registered providers must meet legislated requirements to deliver safe, quality aged care services, manage fees and operations to be funded by the Australian Government.

23 October 2024 - Medicare subsidises a large number of health services and products. You can use your Medicare card to access medical services, hospital services for public patients, surgical services, prescription medicines, eye tests, pathology tests, imaging and scans.

21 August 2024 - The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Review examined Australia’s current HTA system, including its policy and methods. It worked with stakeholders to identify features that are working effectively and those that are acting as barriers to access.

14 January 2026 - The Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM) program helps people and families who have problems with breaking down protein in their food. They need a special diet, and the IEM program helps them pay for their specialised food.

9 October 2025 - Providers can ask people in government-subsidised residential respite care to pay some fees. These fees are different from what you can charge for permanent (ongoing) residential care.
