25 September 2025 - A resident’s fees will depend on the outcome of their means assessment and their negotiations with their aged care provider. See examples to better understand how Services Australia calculates fees and how the means assessment works for people entering residential care from 1 July 2014.

4 June 2025 - We pay approved STRC providers a flexible care subsidy. It is based on the number of allocated places and the daily funding amount set by Ministerial Determination.

3 November 2025 - The Australian Government provides a subsidy and other supplements (if eligible) on behalf of each care recipient to approved providers to deliver care and services. This funding, combined with fees paid by care recipients, makes up their individual package budget.

30 October 2025 - The Australian Government provides subsidies to approved residential aged care providers through the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) funding model.
