11 December 2025 - We are making changes to aged care. Our vision is to deliver the highest quality person-centred care for older people, where and when they need it.

4 June 2025 - We support health professionals and public health units dealing with COVID-19 through clinical advice, surveillance case definitions, national guidelines and data and reporting.

13 January 2026 - The Specialist Training Program supports training positions in regional, rural and remote areas, and in private facilities. This helps to improve the skills and distribution of the specialist workforce by giving participants experience of a broader range of healthcare settings.

31 October 2025 - Aged care provides support for older people to help with everyday living and other needs. We fund aged care services, help people to access them, and work with providers to deliver aged care programs.

9 January 2026 - As a registered provider, you must offer care, services and equipment in the Residential Care Service List. These include accommodation, everyday living services, non-clinical and clinical care. If agreed, you can charge separately for higher level services.

1 June 2023 - These trials explored different ways of helping people understand and engage with the aged care system. Lessons from these trials have helped us decide the best way to support people to navigate aged care.

28 January 2025 - The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) advises the Minister for Health and Aged Care on the National Immunisation Program (NIP) and other immunisation issues.

25 July 2025 - The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) is a screening program using low-dose computed tomography (low-dose CT) scans to look for lung cancer in high-risk people without any symptoms. It aims to find lung cancer early and save lives. Screening for eligible people is available now.

3 October 2024 - Launch of Australia’s first standard of care for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
