9 March 2026 - The Australian Government subsidises residential aged care in Australia by paying subsidies and supplements to registered providers. These are paid on behalf of each person eligible to receive government-subsidised residential aged care.

18 December 2025 - This supplement helps registered providers with the cost of caring for veterans with a service-related mental health condition. You do not need to apply for this supplement. If eligible, payment will start when a person has agreed to release eligibility information.

16 February 2026 - Residential respite care gives an older person or their carer a break from their usual care arrangements. It can be on a planned or emergency basis. It is important to monitor how many days of respite care a person is approved for and request an extension if needed.
