We are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who would like to be considered for upcoming vacancies on national health technology assessment (HTA) committees and subcommittees including:
- Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC)
- MSAC PICO Advisory Sub-Committee (PASC)
- MSAC Evaluation Sub-Committee (ESC)
- Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC)
- PBAC Drug Utilisation Sub-Committee (DUSC)
- PBAC Economics Sub-Committee (ESC)
- PBAC Nutritional Products Working Party (NPWP)
- Medical Devices and Human Tissue Advisory Committee (MDHTAC)
- MDHTAC Expert Clinical Advisory Groups (ECAGs); and
- Consumer and industry member vacancies.
The HTA committees play an important role in ensuring our health system meets the needs of the community. They achieve so by providing independent expert advice to our Minister about the comparative safety, clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of medicines, medical services, medical devices, and other medical products.
Applications are welcome from individuals with a broad range of medical, health economic, consumer, other HTA related and clinical expertise. For more information on selection criteria, remuneration, time commitment, see the applicant pack on the department’s job vacancies page.
This EOI will be used to form a merit pool of suitably qualified candidates across a range of specialities from which we may nominate for future HTA committee positions. This will be done in accordance with the skills/expertise requirements of each particular HTA committee.
Expressions of interest are due by 11.30pm (AEST) on 15 December 2025.
