This circular provides information for stakeholders about the February 2020 Prostheses List benefit reductions.

The delegate of the Minister for Health has made the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules (No. 4) 2019, to replace the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules (No. 3) 2019. The Schedule is generally known as the February 2020 Prostheses List.

The Rules implement the final prostheses benefit reductions for 2020 as set out in the Government Agreement with the Medical Technology Association of Australia

The table in PHI Circular 73/19 sets out the 2020 benefit reductions for prostheses and how they have been applied.

The Rules have been registered on the Federal Register of Legislation and come into effect on 1 February 2020.
