The Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules (No. 3) 2022 

This circular provides information for stakeholders about the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules (No. 3) 2022.

The delegate of the Minister for Health and Aged Care has made the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules (No. 3) 2022, to replace the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules (No. 3) 2022.

The Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules (No. 3) 2022 were registered on the Federal Register of Legislation on 16 November 2022 and commence on 1 December 2022.

The changes effected in the Rules

The Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Amendment Rules (No. 3) 2022 give effect to:

  • creation a new group in Part C of the Prostheses List for the electronic devices allowing patients programming and controlling insulin pumps and listing of 1 new Prostheses List billing code, following successful new application; and
  • correcting details of 3 billing codes by moving them from Prostheses List Part A to Part D.
